Mark McHugh is an experienced clinical psychologist who has worked in private and public hospitals and in private practice for over 10 years.

He provided diagnosis and treatment for patients with elicit substance abuse, prescription medications and alcohol addiction at Goldbridge Rehabilitation Services.

Mark provided psychological treatment with patients experiencing depression and anxiety related to acute physical injuries and chronic pain/diseases at Gold Coast Hospital, Orthopaedics.

He is experienced in working in Primary Care Mental Health with acute and chronic mental health patients. He provided care in assessment, diagnosis and treatment at the Continuing Care Team and Acute Care Team Queensland Health Gold Coast Service District.

His significant experience in private practice began with work form Palm Beach Currumbin Private Hospital ( Gold Coast) and Belmont Private Hospital (Brisbane ). working with outpatients in continuing treatment of substance abuse and trauma.

On returning to Adelaide he worked at Hampstead Rehabilitation Hospital in the orthopaedics unit, spinal unit and amputees unit.

Now at PsychWell as the principal and senior clinical Psychologist he and his firm provide psychological services in private practice across the broad spectrum of psychological problems.

Mark is a Masters qualified clinical psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA) with clinical endorsement. A full member of the Australian Psychological Society ( APS) and a member of the Clinical College of Psychologists and special interest groups in alcohol and the drugs abuse and rehabilitation services. A member of the International Studies of Traumatic Stress Studies ( ISTSS) and the Australian Society Hypnosis (ASH). He holds a contract with the Veterans and Veterans Family Counselling Service, department of Veteran Affairs.

Mark is a very good communicator, he provides quality, timely diagnosis, evidence based treatment and assessment reports for people experiencing psychological difficulties.

His special interests include people with substance abuse,trauma and post traumatic stress (also adolescents with trauma),chronic pain management, adjustment problems with anxiety and depression, rehabilitation from work injury and accidents.
